Throughout the past years, I’ve had the honor of sharing my work with dancers around the world.
From Latin America to Europe, Asia to the Middle East, I’ve taught workshops, created performances, and connected with incredible communities — all through the powerful language of Arabic folk dance.
Every festival I join becomes part of this ongoing journey.
A chance to exchange, to grow, and to celebrate tradition through movement.
When I step into a classroom or onto a stage, I bring with me:
✔️ A deep respect for the cultures I represent
✔️ A commitment to accessible, clear, and meaningful teaching
✔️ A repertoire that blends strong technique with cultural context
✔️ And a genuine desire to connect — whether you’re a beginner or a professional
Being invited to teach at festivals is more than a professional achievement.
It’s a way to build bridges through dance, honor heritage, and inspire transformation.
If you’re looking for an international teacher who brings not only knowledge but presence, passion, and purpose — I’d love to be part of your next event.
Master, dancer, and choreographer
Ian Montes began his dance journey at the age of 9 and quickly fell in love with traditional and folkloric Arabic dances.
He is a three-time champion of Mercado Persa, the largest Arabic dance festival in the world, and has earned numerous other titles at major festivals across Brazil.
Internationally recognized, Ian has performed at festivals around the globe. Asia, Europe, and the Americas are where he most often appears as a Master Teacher at international events.
Since the beginning of his global tours, students from various countries have been captivated by his charisma, unique teaching style, and memorable performances.
Today, Ian Montes has students in over 40 countries through his online classes and courses. He is also a partner of All Dance Korea, one of the largest dance schools in South Korea.
With a strong focus on Arabic folkloric styles, his choreographies earned over 30 medals in different countries in 2024 alone — all won by his students.
